The Big Bash League witnessed a seismic shift last night as the lowly Adelaide Strikers toppled the undefeated Perth Scorchers in a thrilling seven-wicket victory. Written off by many after a dismal start to the season, the Strikers roared back to life with a performance that sent shockwaves through the competition
The Adelaide Oval erupted with outstanding intensity from the opening ball. The bowlers for the Strikers maintained composure in the face of Hilton Cartwright, the BBL's most exciting batsman, who had just scored an explosive century. An early dismissal of Cartwright by Tenary Thornton gave confidence to the home crowd. But the Scorchers did not back down, adding 211 points courtesy of some late fireworks from Ashton Turner.
